Mardi Gras Queens: 'Miss Magnolia Mae--Queen of Carnival'

A celebration of Southern grace and sparkle, Miss Magnolia Mae reigns with quiet confidence.  Her jeweled crown glimmers with laughter and her mask glistens under the light.  She carries the heart of Mardi Gras.  Beneath her painted layers lie scraps of tattered paper, hints of lace, and touches of gold--each piece carefully placed to echo the rhythm of a Mardi Gras parade.  She is the keeper of the laughter, the one who reminds us that grace can shine even through the tattered edges.

Part of the Mardi Gras Queens Collection.  Each queen was brought to life through Deborah Andress's signature Tattered Artist process--a soulful blend of acrylic paint, layered paper, found ephemera, and tiny jeweled details.  These 8x10 mixed media artworks are built with texture and whimsy, each one telling her own story of grace, joy, and Southern spirit.
